Despite all the negative that’s happening due to COVID-19, the Avidor communities are creatively forging ahead and engaging with their residents, prospects and communities in unique ways.

Edina

The Edina team designed wonderful gift baskets as part of a community raffle and delivered fresh waffles to-go to the residents.

Edina hosted a virtual pizza-making class with DeLeo Brothers Pizza. Residents followed along on Zoom as the chef taught them how to spin dough in the air and create delicious pies for dinner.

One of the Edina team’s favorite resident activities is their morning Coffee Klatch, which they currently host via Zoom with their resident “family”. This is a great social opportunity for the residents to share funny stories, news and laughs with their fellow neighbors.

Evanston

The team at Evanston has worked hard to make an impact in their community:

• Ordered pizza from the oldest pizzeria in Evanston to support local business and show appreciation for the police department
• Donated 1000 bottles of water and umbrellas to Connections for the Homeless
• Donated 1000 snacks to the Children’s Aid Society and food pantries in Evanston
• Utilized local restaurants to offer support through ordering meals or gift cards for prospects. As a safety precaution, the Evanston staff is delivering the food themselves and not using any third parties
• Hosted an event on April 16called Mindfulness: Finding Peace in Times of Uncertainty, presented by Bill Epperly
• The team also strives to fulfill their commitments in terms of sponsoring events, even if they’re now virtual. Evanston is a sponsor of Meals on Wheels, the Evanston Symphony and is working on a partnership with the Evanston Foundation

Glenview

As a thank-you to the emergency staff at Glenbrook Hospital, the Glenview team delivered personalized cake jars from Fire Thyme.

The team brought smiles to their resident mothers with special deliveries: succulent plantings, Bloody Mary’s and Mom-osas!

Positive vibes only! Glenview shared some PositiviTEA with their residents with gift packages including tea bags and several pages of information about good things happening around the world.

The Glenview team showed their appreciation to their local first responders at the the Glenview Fire Department Station 6 and brought them a wonderful meal from Johnny’s Kitchen & Tap.

The Glenview team showed their philanthropic spirit and delivered pizza to their local police station as a thank-you for being on the front lines.

Glenview Provides Residents with Pizza Kits
To celebrate Friday night, the Glenview team provided residents with make-your-own pizza kits from the local Goode and Fresh Pizza Bakery right down the street. This way, they were able to support local while taking care of their residents.

Minnetonka

As a thank-you to their depositors, the Minnetonka team provided a fun drive-thru breakfast station featuring Panera snacks, hot coffee and goody bags. Individuals were able to drive up and get breakfast delivered to their window.

The team also sent OneDay videos and handwritten notes and cards to depositors and prospects, delivered breakfast to Minnetonka firefighters, and sent pizza to the team at Stevens Construction.

Omaha

The Omaha team has been very busy with creative ways to engage their prospects.

• They provided a Papa Murphy’s “drive thru” take-n-bake cheese pizza and cookies combo for lunch
• The team delivered spring bouquets to individuals that needed a pick-me-up such as a woman at home recuperating from surgery, a husband who had just started chemotherapy, a couple who were immunosuppressed, and others.

• Glenview brought sunshine to many prospects and folks in the community with a variety of creative ideas:
  • Starbucks gift cards with information on which locations were still open were sent to a woman who’d frequent Starbucks daily and who missed her friends
  • A home-schooling package and activity supplies were given to a grandmother who was caring for her seven-year-old granddaughter
  • Recipes were sent to individuals who were finding themselves in the kitchen more often
  • A package of snacks was delivered to an individual who said they were nearing the end of their chips and cookies and were not sure what to do
  • Donuts were sent to a prospect who said she had been craving them but did not want to brave the store
  • Avidor water bottles were handed out to people who were walking outside due to gyms being closed
  • Beer was delivered to a depositor who said he missed both the community’s Winter Wednesdays and going out for a beer with his friend. The team gave him a picture of the Omaha team so he wouldn’t have to drink alone
  • Prayer cards were given to individuals who were struggling due to an illness and worried about coronavirus exposure
